Tagesfahrt nach Inousses

Located east of Chios, just 45 minutes from the port of the island and opposite Lagkada, is the island complex, Inousses.  The first image you come across as you arrive at the port of the main island is the beautiful village of Egnousa, which is amphitheatrically built on a steep hill. Unpretentious, tranquil and authentic it invites the visitor to wander through the narrow cobbled alleys and admire the luxurious mansions, since many shipping families originate from the island. The abundant churches and chapels on the island are of great interest. Standing out among these are the church of Aghios Nikoloas, which is the pride of the island, and the magnificent monastery of the Annunciation. The religious frescoes that adorn the monastery are unique and are made by the hagiographer Fotis Kontoglou. It is also worth visiting the impressive Maritime Museum. Among the exhibits, which include ship models, nautical instruments, carpenters tools, old photographs, paintings, a collection of weapons from the 18th and 19th century are also sculptures of the Geometric Period. The unique landscape and natural beauty is complemented by picturesque beaches around the island and the clear blue sea that surrounds it.
